Here Comes Wonder Woman’s Epic Final Trailer
The MTV Movie & TV Awards ceremony supplied its usual load of exclusive promos for upcoming big releases this weekend. And the new DC Comics blockbuster, Wonder Woman, was no exception with the feature of a final, action-packed trailer.
Coming out on June 2, the movie will unveil the backstory of Diana, princess of the Amazons (played by Gal Gadot), as she went on to become the famous Wonder Woman.
Set in the early 20th century, the plot will evolve around the greek warrior’s encounter with American military pilot Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), who was washed ashore the island of Themyscira. After learning from him about the conflict in the outside world (here, World War I), Diana will leave her homeland to engage in a fight to end all wars, and in the meantime discover her full powers and true destiny.
This new adventure based on a comic book character is directed by Patty Jenkins, which makes her the first woman to direct a superhero film with a female protagonist, and co-produced by husband and wife Deborah and Zack Snyder. It will be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D.
The rest of the cast also includes Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen (as Diana’s mother), Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis, Doutzen Kroes, Ewen Bremner, and Danny Huston.
Wonder Woman will be the fourth installment in the DC Extended Universe following Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad before the release of the highly-anticipated Justice League movie on November 17, which will regroup superheroes Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher ) in a fight to save Earth from a dangerous menace.
