Reese Witherspoon Faces Mid-Life Crisis in New Rom-Com Home Again Trailer
The upcoming indie romantic comedy offers Reese Witherspoon a chance to return to the movie genre, 7 years after she starred in James L. Brooks’ How Do You Know. Discover the first trailer, below.
In Home Again, Witherspoon plays Alice, a single mother who recently separated from her husband (Michael Sheen), after what she decides to start over by moving back to her hometown of Los Angeles with her 2 daughters. But little does she know, her life will soon take an unexpected turn when she allows 3 young men to move in with her.
Described as “a story of love, friendship, and the families we create. And one very big life lesson: Starting over is not for beginners,” the movie is scheduled to hit theatres on September 8.
And it seems that talent really does runs in the family as Hallie Meyers-Shyer, daughter of the master of chick flicks, Nancy Meyers (Father of the Bride, What Women Want, The Holiday), will make her directorial debut with Home Again, for which she also penned the screenplay. Only 29, Meyers-Shyer worked on the film alongside her mother, who officiates as producer.
“Hallie and Nancy make a dynamic team who effortlessly blend tough, female-driven themes with comedic scripts which tackle dramatic issues,” stated co-producer, Erika Olde from Black Bicycle Entertainment, in a press release.
It’s been a busy year for Reese Witherspoon, who’s produced (via her company, Pacific Standard) and acted in Big Little Lie, the intense HBO mini-series that reunited her with Wild director Jean-Marc Vallée, as well as Disney’s forthcoming live-action movie, Tinker Bell. Aside from her heavy schedule imposed by her Hollywood career, the actress also manages to find time to run her southern-style clothing line, Draper James.
