Emma Stone and Steve Carell Face Off in Battle of the Sexes Trailer

In 1973, the tennis match between world number one Billie Jean King (Emma Stone) and ex-champ and serial hustler Bobby Riggs (Steve Carell) was billed as “The Battle of the Sexes”. One of the most watched televised sports events of all time, the game sparked a global conversation on gender equality, spurring on the feminist movement.

And the very first trailer of the movie based on the historical event, as well as the highly publicized off-court face-offs between the 2 tennis legends, has finally arrived!

Directed by husband and wife Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (Little Miss Sunshine) and co-produced by Danny Boyle, The Battle of the Sexes will be released on September 22.

The cast will also include Andrea Riseborough, Elisabeth Shue, Austin Stowell, and Sarah Silverman.
