A Premiere Date and a Teaser for the Season 7 of Game of Thrones

4 more months, that’s how long we’ll have to wait until the long-awaited season 7 of Game of Thrones premieres on HBO. So, now would be the time to cancel any plans you may have on Sunday, July 16 (who cares about cousin Judy’s wedding anyway, right?)!

And because good things come in pairs, the cable network also released a very first teaser trailer via Twitter along with the caption: ‘The great war is here. #GoTS7 premieres 7.16′.

Winter will be the main season in this very exciting new chapter, which is why the production pushed the usual spring release to summer (so that they could shoot in real cold weather) – skipping at the same time a chance to qualify for the Emmy Awards (but who is counting anymore?). And from the look of it, the upcoming 7 episodes are going to be epic! But for good reason, as season 7 will introduce the first final hours of the series with 6 more episodes coming in 2018 as part of season 8, which will mark the end of the show.

Oh, and did we mention there is also a teaser poster?
