First Teaser Poster for Stephen King’s The Dark Tower Movie Adaptation

Matthew McConaughey and Stephen King themselves published the very first gravity-defying teaser poster of The Dark Tower on Twitter yesterday, at the same time confirming the movie adaptation will come out this summer (August 4).

Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, The Dark Tower will be based on the books of the same name written by Stephen King and has been described as a new take on the series. It will introduce young Tom Taylor as Jake Chambers, an 11-year-old boy who discovers the secret about another dimension where he will meet Idris Elba as knight Roland Deschain, whose only desire is to reach the ‘Dark Tower’ and in the meantime defeat sorcerer Walter Padick, played by Matthew McConaughey.

The project to adapt King’s series of 8 volumes has been in progress since 2007, with J.J. Abrams initially offered the director’s chair, before the role was given to Ron Howard, and finally Nikolaj Arcel.

As the release date approaches fast, it shouldn’t be long before we see the first trailer of The Dark Tower surface online. Meanwhile, here are all the pictures of the much-awaited movie already available:
