The First Trailer for Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower’ Has Emerged

Announced earlier this week, the first trailer for the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series has now landed. Featuring Idris Elba as Roland Deschain and Matthew McConaughey as the ‘Man in Black’, the video gives a whole new idea of what the highly anticipated sci-fi movie will feel like in theatre.

Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, The Dark Tower, based on a series of 8 books, has been described as a “new take” on the saga. The film will introduce young Tom Taylor as Jake Chambers, an 11-year-old boy who discovers the secret about another dimension where he will meet knight Roland Deschain (Elba), whose only desire is to reach the ‘Dark Tower’ in order to save both of their worlds and in the meantime defeat sorcerer Walter Padick (McConaughey).

The Dark Tower will hit theatres on August 4 (previously July 28).
