Watch the Moving Trailer for The Big Bang Theory’s Prequel Series Young Sheldon

Every legend has a beginning. And for genius Sheldon Cooper, it all started in the small town of Galveston, Texas, where he grew up with his elder brother, George Jr. (Montana Jordan), and twin sister, Missy (Raegan Revord), raised by an overtly devout Christian mother (Zoe Perry) and an alcoholic father (Lance Barber).

The Big Bang Theory prequel series, Young Sheldon, will center on those early years of the life of the high-IQ theoretical physicist with an almost total lack of social skills played by Jim Parsons. This time, Big Little Lies actor, Iain Armitage, will portray the famous character when he was only 9 years old and trying to adapt to the rest of the world, as he started his first days in high school back in 1989.

CBS has released a very first touching trailer for the highly anticipated show, which will premiere on Thursday September 25, just after The Big Bang Theory.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the first episodes of Young Sheldon will be narrated by Jim Parsons.
