Behind The Scenes

Best of Bloopers: Parks and Recreation Edition

For 7 delightful years, the Parks and Recreation very special team, led by the one-of-a-kind, perky Amy Poehler/Leslie Knope, has been supplying an impressive amount of joy and laughter to its wide audience. A collective effort, we suspect, that was nothing but the result of the actors from the hilarious political comedy series, Rashida Jones, Poehler, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, and Adam Scott, simply having A LOT of fun together onset.

Watch the best of the show’s bloopers below, and you’ll rapidly discover that if it felt like most scenes from Parks and Rec. looked improvised, it’s clearly because they were, which inevitably generated some pretty unexpected – sometimes comically disturbing – outtakes too good not to be shared.

What most will without doubt take away from this funny video compilation will certainly be, first and foremost, Nick Offerman – usually portraying the cynical, rigid Ron Swanson – laughing his ass off after a failed scene (how precious…). Then, of course, is Chris Pratt’s surprising ability to keep a straight face no matter what, especially while he comes up with new, priceless lines so fast it’s impossible for his co-stars not to break character.

But the most enjoyable aspect of this gag reel has to be the obvious, permanent complicity between not only the cast but also every member of the crew, proving that having the time of your life at work doesn’t prevent from producing something great – on the contrary.

Parks and Recreation aired on NBC from April 9, 2009 to February 24, 2015 for 125 episodes. Overtly inspired by The Office’s mockumentary approach (which represented quite challenge), the show received several awards including the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Musical or Comedy Series for Amy Poehler in 2014 and has been deemed “the smartest comedy on TV” by Entertainment Weekly.
